Those that think Trump is smart, must also believe that Putin is smart, Netanyahu and all the other copy cats of wars waged and authoritarians believed. Those people are applauding evil, and with Trump, they know how ridiculous his life of slander, bankruptcy and sexual abuse have defined his life… yet they remain impressed.
This is a multi-faceted problem I simply cannot wrap my head around. I fear that it will have to scare the hell out of ourselves before we take our blinders off and accept exactly where we went wrong. How to fix us is quite another feat. Somewhere deep inside me is the voice that knows we can get there; but another voice fears the worst, and that small call is getting louder lately.
To me, it is easy to see the sky falling, and far harder to see how to get out from under. The weight of chaos is getting to be untenable, and I see the cracks in our streets, in our buildings, in all we hold dear. Our children are out in the world, and we cannot keep this weight off their shoulders. Gravity is the least of their concerns; falling is expected for them, scarcity is common for them… these issues are no longer a third world problem.
Seems power is in the wrong hands; more succinctly, the wrong minds have found power over us, and we gave it willingly. Survival of the fittest has been flipped, and if we do not change course, the fittest will not survive. Waking up doesn’t seem so bad now, huh?!! If only we all woke from this nightmarish moral decline into winning the wrong prize.
It is now time for the smart people to rise, and stop giving into the boundaries we were born into. Let’s start with integrity, it will lead us into clarity in this one wild life of ours. I do not want to live within this storybook.
No wonder we are locked into superhero movies, we know it will take strength to get out from under. Our kids know what is needed in this world, and it’s not distractions and chaos; let’s look to them for what fresh vision can guide us, because we have lost this round. Let’s look to those we haven’t seen before, let’s build strength into our communities and not in our minds.
